How to wire TOAD (1979 VW bus)
I am now using the magnet type lights in the top of the bus but would like to hook into the lights on the bus. Any one ever done this or give me some insight on what to do? Thanks

RE: No power to fridge
Found out what it was. They have a fuse type unit on the stack that is resetable but mine got hot and did not reset on it's own. It is hidden under insulation on the right side just above the burner area. I have a new one on order that is manual reset. They say this should fix it . I guess when the fridge is mounted in the slide out it runs a little warmer because it don't have a stright shot to the roof vent.

Sounds like a broken wire to me. If it works from another place the fuse that runs the fridge is OK. Might be an inline fuse on the DC power.

No power to fridge
I think I blew a fuse to my Norcold frige but can't find it. I can not run it on gas or electric. In the trouble shooting it says it might be that the 12 volt power is not conected. I have checked all the fueses I can find but it says it has 2 5amp fuse some place in it. I see a black box on the outside of my rig and am thinking it might be in that area. Any ideas? Thanks

I have one I got from a place called Xcalibur in Corona and ride it every day to work. (About a mile away) I get about 85 MPG and it will do about 50 MPH.It's no Honda but it has never failed me. Great for around the campground.

Rack that will hold a scooter
I'm looking for a rack for my motorhome that will hold a 150 CC scooter and can also tow a trailer or TOAD with. Not sure if anyone makes one except for the big bike lift type. looking for something cheep.

Need to vent
took my coach into LA freightliner to have a check eng. light looked at on a Friday and I returned to their shop on the following Thursday and was told my unit was in the body shop because it was hit by a truck backing up (18 wheeler).They never called and told me of this up to this point. The truck knocked off the drivers side mirror and put some scraps on the front of the couch that has a plastic type coating as a mask over the front end. At this time they said they would repair it and it will be O.K. I had a trip planned so I asked them if they could get the mirror on so I could go camping over the 4th of July and they did. I returned the coach back to them on Monday and got a call from Rex, a service manager stating that they have done all they are going to do as they are not at falt because it was a hit and run. Now they want me to pay the $1700.00 they say it will take to repair my coach. What a nice place to have you work done at. What can I do. The police will not come out and make a hit and run report on it and say I need to take them to court. Now what?

30 amp but need 50 amp
Most places I go only have 30 amp service and my coach needs 50amp to make everything run. If I use the microwave the air goes off and I can only run one air unit with 30 amp. What can I do to keep my cool?

RE: Yet Another Fuel Filter Thread
I just did my Cat today and I installed them dry and did the hand pump for 45 min. before I removed them and filled the filters and pumped about six more times and started the eng. For mine filling the filters first is the way to go.

1979 VW bus as TOAD
I'm almost ready to tow my van behind my motorhome but have one more question before I do. My bus has a locking steering wheel and not sure how I should go about this system. I know I don't want it locked. Do I disconnect one side of the battery and turn the eng. switch to run or is their a better way?

KF6OOK Running a Yaesu ft 100 with a ATAS 120 antenna and not having very much luck with this setup. Not sure if it's because of the fiberglass rig and no ground plane or if I have a bad coax. I'm running the antenna off the ladder in the rear of the unit with about 60 foot of coax. Anyone have any ideas for me? thanks

I have a 40 foot Cheetah Safari that is pre wired for a CB but I would like to try and place a 2 meter 440 antenna in the place that the CB is. I have one rubber antenna and one wire type that I think is the CB. Any ideas?

I checked it again today and it's not check eng light ,it is eng warning light. I talked to CAT today and they said if it was a problem the light would most likely stay on.

When I start my Cat C-7 after the wait to start light goes out I get the check engine for a quick sec. Is this normal or do I need to take it in for a check-up Thanks

towing VW Bus (79)
I have a 1979 VW bus I want to pull behind my rig. Not sure what is the best way 4 down or a trailer. I know I'll need some kind of breaks if I tow 4 down but if I use a trailer it should have breaks needed. Thanks
